New Facts: Edy Gutierrez Mejia Identified As Helicopter Crash
The Los Angeles County medical examiner identified the third person killed in the Chatsworth helicopter crash as Edy Gutierrez Mejia, 29, of Cuilapa, Guatemala. He was on the ground when the KNBC/KVEA news helicopter went down while covering the earlier bus collision, which also killed reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw.
He had traveled to Los Angeles to buy a car to sell back home. Accounts differ on how long he had been in the city before the crash, either two days or only hours.
